World War I Video:



The following group studied their World War I vocabulary word.  They used excellent team work and showed their classmates that nationalism is an extreme love of one's country where you think it is/was the best.  As we discussed, it is different than patriotism.  They did a great job.

Wow, these are so much fun! Our two young gentlemen here have explained one of our WWI vocabulary words.  Their word was alliance which means that countries support one another during war times.  Great job, boys!

Immigration Newscasts

Our Social Studies classes have been working on immigration of various groups into the United States. We have been studying about Chinese immigration, Irish immigration, German-Jewish immigration, and Mexican immigration. Students have been studying the following three questions: Why did people immigrate? What were some of the challenges they faced? What did they contribute to the United States? World Report Day 2011





We just finished celbrating our hardwork researching countries around the world. We invited the fourth grade classrooms to see our displays and invited them to learn from us and dine with us on authentic recipes and interactive music and games.
It was a terrific day!
